Requests for Statements of Qualifications for Architect and Engineer Services

The Board of Trustees of the Portsmouth Public Library has established a file with qualifications of providers of professional design services for use by the Board when design services are needed that will cost less than $50,000. Architects, engineers and landscape architects interested in being considered should respond with a statement of qualification. Each firm is responsible for updating its qualifications on an annual basis to remain current.

2018 Summer Reading Finale

The Portsmouth Public Library invites you to LIBRARIES ROCK Summer Reading Finale on July 28th from 12:30 – 3:30. Free for all ages! Registration starts at 12:30pm. Free Summer Food Program for Children at Library Branches

The Scioto County Community Action Organization (CAO) will provide free lunches to children during the summer as part of the USDA Summer Food Service Program at the Lucasville and South Webster libraries from 12:00 – 12:30pm and the New Boston library from 12:30 – 1:00pm on regular days open. Any child under age 18 may come and eat a free lunch regardless of income level. Young adults between the ages of 19 and 21 years of age may also come and eat if they have a documented physical or developmental disability.

Summer Reading Starts June 4th

Our 2018 Summer Reading Program for children 12 and under starts Monday, June 4!!! This year we’ll be rocking all summer long with story times, crafts, music, and so much more. Keep up with everything planned on our Summer Reading schedule here.

Quick Pick Books

Your PPL is featuring a new service called Quick Pick to help you get new books more quickly! Beginning June 1st, here’s how it works: Quick Pick is a special collection of new adult fiction & non-fiction books including bestselling titles and older, high demand titles that compliments the existing collection. This service allows patrons to bypass the hold list so that everyone gets the book quicker–just pick it up and go! Adult Summer Reading

Looking for a fun way to reach your reading goals this summer? Adult Summer Reading will begin at all locations May 1st and will run through July 31st. All patrons 18+ with a valid library card may sign up for free at any location and will immediately receive a bag full of fun readers’ advisory information and be entered to win 2 free Renaissance Fair tickets. Once signed up, patrons can enter their check out receipts to be entered to win a bag full of books and our monthly Grand Prizes, all donated from local businesses.
